Therapy for Teenagers and Adolescents
The teenage years are when identity forms, pressure builds, and emotions start arriving faster than the tools to handle them. This service gives teenagers a space to understand themselves, at a pace and depth that is right for where they are.
About the service
Adolescent therapy at the Coreano Theory is designed around the specific emotional and developmental realities of being a teenager. Identity, self-worth, social pressure, family dynamics, academic stress, and early relationship patterns are all on the table. Sessions are built around the individual teen, their history, their nervous system, and what is actually going on in their life.
Parental involvement is present but calibrated. Unlike child therapy where a parent is required in the room at all times, the level of parental participation in teen sessions is determined by the teen’s age, maturity, and presenting needs. This is discussed and agreed upon during the initial assessment. Parents always have access to general updates on progress and direction, and are brought in fully for any session where it is therapeutically appropriate. Sessions run 50 minutes, are held weekly, and follow the 3-month minimum program structure.
What results can I expect?
- Your teenager will develop a stronger sense of identity and self-worth, grounded in self-knowledge rather than external validation.
- They will build practical emotional regulation strategies that work in real-life situations, at school, at home, and in friendships.
- Family communication often improves significantly as teenagers develop language for what they are feeling and parents gain tools for how to respond.
- Patterns that could otherwise follow a teenager into adulthood are identified and addressed early, before they become deeply ingrained.
Teenagers are at a stage where the right kind of support can change the entire trajectory of how they see themselves and how they move through the world. The Coreano Theory works with each teen as a whole person, not a behavior to be corrected. The questions we ask in sessions are the ones that most people spend decades trying to answer. Who am I? Why do I react the way I do? What do I actually want? Starting that work early makes everything that follows easier.
